Mark Women’s History Month with an Uncomfortable Oxford tour in aid of our Her Way Home appeal.
To mark Women’s History Month, we have partnered with alternative walking tour company Uncomfortable Oxford to organise a fundraiser in aid of our Her Way Home appeal.
Taking place on Saturday 14 March at 2pm, the Power, Women & Queer Histories tour will take guests through the city, from Radcliffe Observatory Quarter to the Lamb and Flag Passage and back to St Mary’s Church, as they uncover stories of those who are often left out of traditional narratives of Oxford: women, people of colour, and LQBTQIA+ individuals.
Led by Oxford University researchers, this guided journey will highlight the many ways women have historically impacted the city of Oxford; revealing the complexities of navigating university research and family life, uncovering unknown trailblazers, and discussing queer experiences in the city.

Uncomfortable Oxford tours aim to shed light on the lesser-known aspects of Oxford’s history, bringing attention to uncomfortable truths, social injustices, or historical events that are often overlooked or forgotten about.
As a charity that supports people experiencing homelessness in one of the most expensive places to rent in the country, we share many values with Uncomfortable Oxford and we’re proud to be partnering with them for Women’s History Month as part of our Her Way Home campaign – giving women in Oxfordshire a safe route out of homelessness.
