Her Way Home Appeal

Help us bring housing, healing and hope to women experiencing homelessness

Women experiencing homelessness are often unseen, unheard and ignored by a system that hasn’t been designed with their needs in mind. We want to change that. By providing safe women-only housing and targeted mental health and wellbeing support, we can help more women find their way home.

Our Women’s Project is a vital resource for many women experiencing homelessness, particularly for victims of gender-based violence who risk re-traumatisation in hostels. Thanks to support for our Her Way Home appeal, we have recently purchased and renovated a new eight-bed property, which means we can now offer single-sex accommodation to twice as many women! But this is just the beginning…

With your help, we can ensure that every woman we work with gets targeted support from dedicated staff and access to specialist mental health, wellbeing and recovery services. Together, we can give women in Oxfordshire a safe route of our homelessness.

How your support will help

Housing

Our first goal was to purchase and refurbish a new property so we could provide safe, single-sex accommodation to twice as many women.

Thanks to a generous legacy donation and incredible support from our local community, we have now reached this goal!

Healing

Women experiencing homelessness often have unique and additional needs, and gender-based violence is a near universal experience. By providing targeted 24/7 wraparound support, specialist counselling, therapy and addiction recovery services and employing more dedicated support workers, together we can create lasting change in lives that have been shaped by trauma.

Hope

We’ll support our female residents for as long as we’re needed but our goal is always to see them settle into their own home. With your support, we can help our residents strengthen their sense of self, self-worth and independence through Personalisation and Move-On funds and engagement activities such as day trips, workshops and life-skills training.

With a larger or additional women-only property, we can provide this vital resource to more women in Oxfordshire who are in desperate need of a safe space to call home. Your support will help us purchase, renovate and furnish a new property or properties so we can double our capacity.

Help women like Rebecca

Rebecca became homeless after fleeing abuse from previous partners. She asked for help repeatedly, but it felt like no one was listening. Finally, she came to the Women’s Project where she has found what she calls her “new kind of family”.
