Fundraising ideas in Lockdown 3.0…

The ongoing pandemic and lockdown 3.0 has meant that fundraising has had to go ‘virtual’ for many charities.

As you know, one of our values at Homeless Oxfordshire is ‘resilience’, so despite the adversity of the current situation, we have come up with some creative ways that you can do something positive for charities like ours at this particularly challenging time!

eBay it away

It’s super simple, you just list your item and donate a percentage of whatever your item sells for. The best bit? If you choose to donate more than 10% of the total sale, your item will feature an attention-grabbing charity ribbon, you’ll reduce your seller fees and enjoy tax savings… it makes sense all round!

Lockdown birthday?

Let’s face it, nobody wants a lockdown birthday, but you could make a good thing out of a bad thing by asking your friends and family to donate to a birthday fundraiser by setting up a Just Giving page! We bet the Pisces birthdays among you will enjoy this!

Be a Hox Hero

Take a leaf out of Millie and Mabel’s book, Mille is the most recent Hero in our ‘Hox Squad’, the name we give to our younger supporters. Millie and her pup took it upon themselves to walk 25km throughout December, no matter what the weather threw at them. If you need some new year fitness motivation, a challenge like this might be just the ‘inspo’ you need.

Take to the virtual spotlight

Whether you’re a dancer, singer, baker, candlestick maker… why not share your talent with a video on Facebook or Instagram Live and include a donate button?

We were blown away by Oxford University Music Society’s Musical Advent calendar. It showcased the fantastic talent that’s out there in the Oxfordshire community. Why not share your talents online at the same time as helping some of the most vulnerable people in Oxfordshire?

If you have any innovative ways that you’re planning to raise money online, then we would love to hear from you and cheer you on!
