The results of our 2024 Christmas Appeal

Thanks to the support and kindness of our wonderful new and regular supporters, our 2024 Christmas Appeal raised over £132,000 in monetary donations alone.

We have been blown away by the generosity and support we received for our 2024 Christmas Appeal. With the final results now in, we’re delighted to announce that local community groups, businesses and individuals across the county and beyond came together to raise a total of £132,000 (including Gift Aid).

This incredible amount has gone a long way towards helping us achieve the £500,000 we need to fundraise every year to provide safety and stability to those that need it most. And, with just under 50% of the total gifts coming from first-time donors to Homeless Oxfordshire, it’s wonderful to see support for the Charity growing.

This year, we have big plans to expand our accommodation and support provisions for some of the most vulnerable people experiencing homelessness in Oxfordshire today. With continued support from our new and regular supporters, we know we can change even more lives – together.

Booming business support

Local businesses came out in full force, with a total of 19 gifting to the appeal. Special thanks goes out to our Corporate Membership Club members, including Kitchen Architecture, Hedges, Mark Barclay Wealth Management, First Touch Games, Mills & Reeve and creative agency H2O, whose continued support keeps us going all year round.

Communities creating hope

From the Chipping Norton Explorer Scouts to the Standlake Santa Sprint runners, the carol singers to the festive gift wrappers, a whole host of local groups and communities clubbed together to create real moments of hope for our residents this Christmas. Whether hosting fundraising events, organising collections or volunteering valuable time, we couldn’t have done it without them.

The power of collective action

Proving the power of collective action, we received 380 donations from individual donors, contributing to a combined donation total of nearly £35,000. 16 new regular gifts were also set up, which will help us plan for the year ahead. Whether it’s £5 or £500, a one-off donation or a regular gift, every single penny makes a real difference to the people we support.

A gift for every resident

As well as financial support, we also had an incredibly heart-warming response to our Giftmas Appeal. The kindness of our supporters meant that every single one of our residents, across our Oxfordshire-wide projects, received gift-wrapped presents to open over the festive period.

We will never give up

We are so grateful for everything our supporters have done for us in 2024; campaigning, fundraising, volunteering and donating funds and items to help us continue our vital work. Together, we are changing lives. And at Homeless Oxfordshire, we will never give up.

With the number of people sleeping rough in the UK rising for yet another consecutive year, we know there is much more to be done. In 2025, we will be investing heavily in our accommodation and our support provision; creating more capacity and increasing complex needs support for some of our most vulnerable residents.

Thank you to everyone who supported us in 2024.

How can you support us in 2025?
