On October 10th colleagues and supporters helped mark World Homeless Day at Homeless Oxfordshire in a variety of ways.
Challenging perceptions
Think homelessness is just rough sleeping? Think again. Homelessness is a complex subject and is often misunderstood. On World Homeless Day we aimed to challenge perceptions and reflected on the realities of life in the homeless sector.
Colleagues shared lesser-known facts about homelessness with our followers on social media.
Reflecting on proud moments
Colleagues took a moment during the day to share moments that have made them happy and proud while working at Homeless Oxfordshire in a video on social media.
Plaque unveiling
We were honoured to welcome Amber Hughes and her mother Pauline to unveil a plaque in memory of her sister Hannah at O’Hanlon House, our hostel in Oxford, where Hannah had lived.
Amber does amazing work honouring Hannah’s life through her innovative fundraising. Operating as Amber Lights in Oxford, all the proceeds from Amber’s popular Skyline and Pawsome ranges of clothing benefit Homeless Oxfordshire, and we are incredibly grateful for all her support over many years.
We were delighted to be able to help remember Hannah in this way on World Homeless Day and we were very moved to share this moment with her family.
